New banner promotes TMOS branch

Through the Service Excellence initiative we heard very clearly that staff wanted to better communicate the services we provide. Back in early November, we decided to develop a portable display banner to promote the important products and services Traffic Management and Operational Support (TMOS) provides to the public and our internal clients. Over the last number of weeks staff in each of the divisions have been involved in the development process to come up with a design that quickly and effectively communicates what our branch is and what we are all about. This is no small feat considering the wide range of services that are offered by TMOS.

We wanted our banner to read like a billboard, short and sweet. We also wanted to communicate visually with large photos that tell the story of our services. The best way to grab attention is with graphics and rich colours that add to the effect of our message and our slogan “Partners in public works excellence”. Thanks to everyone who provided ideas and input into the banner.

In the end, the Public Works Department and each of its branches developed an easy to set up display banner. On January 21 we unveiled the new TMOS branch banner, along with the new Public Works Department display and the other Public Works branch banners.

If you are hosting an event or meeting and would like to use the TMOS banner, please contact Dean Johnson at extension 17924 or Dean.Johnson@ottawa.ca to make arrangements.
