TMOS “Cleans the Capital”!

On April 29th, 10 TMOS team members set out on a mission to tidy up around 100 Constellation as part of the annual Spring Cleaning the Capital campaign. Among the most memorable items collected during their cleanup were: a drill, insulation and even a rusted pocketknife! The most commonly found type of litter? Cigarette butts! Cigarette butts take up to 15 years to decompose… so let’s spread the word and make sure these are properly discarded!

When asked about the experience, Ania Schoof said “It was a rewarding experience – people in the area took notice of the effort by municipal employees. When passing by, a child asked her parents what we were doing – what a great opportunity for the next generation to see such positive action”.

A BIG thank you goes out to Bryden Denyes, Allison Wilson, Judi Pilon, Dean Johnson, Megan Soper, Tim Vesterfelt, Caitlyn Prevost, Ania Schoof, Kevin Wylie, and Leslie Vanclief. Great job team, thank you for making our environment a cleaner place!

The next TMOS cleanup event will be planned again for the fall campaign.
